The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians brought in more than half a million dollars during its annual Benefit Day to help pay for the health care costs of local artists.
With musical acts playing at venues and businesses across town on Tuesday, HAAM brought in at least $500,000, and that total will rise as final donations are tallied, said Rikki Hardy, the organization's marketing and fundraising coordinator. The event had set a goal to raise $520,000.
