An interesting trend emerged in 2017, as 30 percent of CEOs who stepped down across the country remained with their companies in a new C-suite role or a board member. That’s up from 22 percent a year earlier and 20 percent in 2015. A new report also notes that sexual misconduct allegations played a much bigger role than usual in chief executive departures.
